Dr. Carolina provided direct communication channels and always responded promptly and clearly. "We always felt confident, convinced that we had found the right person to take care of Solal and his severely broken wrist. Every step confirmed that this was the case, whether during the diagnosis, the surgery, or seeing the results today. Thank you very much!

- Thierry Peuchot

""As I mentioned during our consultation, this is the first winter in many years that I haven't felt any pain. I can barely remember living without the electric shock-like pain in my finger. The first surgery (not performed by Dr. Carolina) only gave me a few weeks without the usual pain, but I was left with post-operative pain. Within a few weeks, the electric shock-like pain had returned. I was apprehensive about this surgery because it involved the complete removal of the nail, but the result was that I experienced less post-operative pain (compared to the first time, when my nail wasn’t removed), my recovery was much faster, and most importantly, the old pain never came back. Thank you for your honesty, support, and above all, professionalism. If I ever have to make a recommendation, without a doubt, it will be Dr. Carolina.""

- Sofia Barroc

I underwent hand surgery performed by Dr. Carolina Baptista due to issues with the tendon sheaths, including the removal of cysts, and carpal tunnel syndrome, which was causing pain, numbness, and movement limitations. The procedure went smoothly, and the post-operative period was uneventful, with a faster recovery than I had expected. With the recommended care and proper rehabilitation, I regained hand function in a short time, significantly improving my quality of life."

- Fernando Moita

"I had my hand operated on by Dr Carolina Morais Baptista and I was extremely satisfied, both with the surgery and with the post-operative follow-up; My experience with Dr Carolina Morais Baptista was exceptional, both in the consultations and in the surgery, which went very well; I have total confidence in Dr Carolina Morais Baptista, having had an absolutely successful surgery, having fully recovered the functionality of my hand."

Testimonials

“Good morning, my name is Barend Bezuidenhout, also known as Borris. A few years ago, I broke my hand during a rugby match… and that’s when I met Dr. Carolina Baptista, an orthopedic surgeon in Lisbon, Portugal. She is very reliable and not only an incredible surgeon but also a very kind and caring person. It was a tough journey for me personally, but she was always positive and kept me calm every step of the way toward recovery. She told me everything would be fine, and in the end, it was. She repaired my hand without hesitation and ensured that I followed the right rehabilitation at the right time to get me back on the field as quickly as possible. It has been a few years since then, and I’m still playing rugby with no issues with my hand.  Thank you, Dr. Carolina, for all your help and patience.” Borris

What stood out the most was how personalized her guidance was. She set clear expectations, and everything happened exactly as she had planned. I had a broken thumb and two compressed wrists, but thanks to her expertise and guidance, I was able to resume boxing, surfing, and my regular workout routine just four months after surgery. Looking back, I have no doubt that trusting her was the best decision. It is rare to find a doctor who is truly passionate about their work, and I am grateful to have been under her care.” see less

“I feel very lucky that Dr. Carolina was my surgeon when I recently fractured both my wrists. Carolina is not only a fantastic surgeon but also caring and professional, with a calming presence. I always felt confident and reassured after speaking with her. And now, both of my wrists are perfectly healed. A big thank you to Dr. Carolina and her team!”  Fiona Price

My experience with Dr. Carolina Baptista for my scaphoid wrist surgery was excellent. I am a roller hockey athlete and had the misfortune of suffering a complete scaphoid fracture in my left wrist. However, I was incredibly fortunate to be operated on by one of the best wrist specialists in Portugal. My recovery was faster than I had expected, and both during the surgery and the rehabilitation process, I was treated exceptionally well, both on a professional and human level. Now, I can play normally again, all thanks to the expertise of Dr. Carolina Baptista.” Pol Manrubia

“I am 76 years old and have been diabetic for over 40 years. The typical ailments of aging and the inevitable consequences of diabetes, even when controlled, have started to appear. For about two years, my 4th finger, and more recently my 2nd finger, on my right hand, had been experiencing difficulties in moving properly.” See more Asdrúbal G. Pimenta

My 4th finger had long surpassed the stage commonly known as ‘trigger finger,’ and I was already experiencing pain when trying to stretch my fingers or attempting, unsuccessfully, to fully close my hand.

As it became unbearable, I complained to my general practitioner, who prescribed imaging exams and prepared me for surgery. The tests indicated ‘tenosynovitis,’ and fearing surgery, I kept postponing further steps.

By mere chance, I accompanied one of my grandchildren to a hand orthopedics consultation and mentioned my condition to the doctor (Dr. Carolina Baptista). As soon as possible, I had my own appointment, and right then and there, she performed an injection in each of the affected fingers. Two harmless little pricks. In the following days, I started to feel improvement in my joints and pain relief, and about ten days later, I was completely recovered.

It was not certain that this would happen, especially in my 4th finger, given how advanced the condition was. I regret the time I spent with a clear deficit in my quality of life, which I could have resolved much earlier and with greater certainty of the outcome. At my age, where ailments accumulate, each one that is resolved is an invaluable benefit.”

“I was advised by my family doctor, Dr. Rita Soares, to schedule a consultation to hear your opinion about my hands…” See More Raul Jesus Matos

Dr. Carolina was direct and straightforward, telling me that surgery on my left hand was urgent and that, in the future, I would also need surgery on my right hand, which eventually happened.

My hands could no longer close, my fingers were extremely crooked, and I was no longer able to hold a glass or a bottle. My life was becoming quite complicated. However, Dr. Carolina, after the surgeries, my hands improved significantly. If I had undergone the surgeries when you first advised me, I would be even better than I am now. In my opinion, it was a success.

Your punctuality during the many consultations I had, your positive attitude, and all your clear explanations about the exercises I needed to do were absolutely fantastic. So, Dr. Carolina, my sincerest thanks for everything.”
